Information Interviews with UCLA Informatics Students
How did you get involved in the UCLA Informatics Group, and why did you want to create the UCLA Informatics Wiki?

I got involved in the UCLA Informatics group to learn more about informatics jobs, courses, and internships. The group was a place for me to learn and discuss Informatics with fellow classmates, and professionals in the field. I wanted to help build the UCLA Informatics Wiki to learn more about informatics, and gain experience in community building. I wanted to be part of the effort to help other students easily access answers to their questions about Informatics.
What type of Informatics are you interested in?

I am interested in Information Architecture, Information Literacy, and the use of multimedia technologies to market library services. I also have an interest in Medical Informatics.
What skills are needed to be successful in the UCLA Informatics program?

Skills and knowledge of computer architecture, HTML, XML, ontologies, and cataloging seem to have been the most helpful in classes.
